One focus of his repertoire is all the great Mozart roles and
as a lyrical tenor especially in the great Italian bel canto roles
like Elvino ("La Sonnambula"), Leicester ("Mary Stuart"),
Gennaro ("Lucrezia Borgia"),Edardo ("Un Giorno die Regno"), Ismael ("Nabucco")
Alfredo ("La Traviata") Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor) Almaviva (Barbiere di Siviglia )
Ramiro (La Cenerentola) profiled.
He has been a member of the ensemble of the Pfalztheater Kaiserslauten since August 2012.
Opera engagements took him to the opera houses of Altenburg, Bonn, Braunschweig, Bremen,
Bremerhaven, Flensburg, Gera, Gelsenkirchen, Regensburg, Pforzheim, Weimar, Würzburg,
Luxembourg and Korea National Opera Seoul.
The singer is also in great demand in concerts and oratorios.
With an extensive repertoire from the Baroque to the present
he has made a name for himself.
Recently he sang with various orchestras and conductor
he performs regularly in all the important concert halls
such as the Philharmonie Berlin, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Beethovenhalle Bonn, the Glocke Bremen,
Seoul Art Center and in the Walt Disney Concert Hall Los Angeles.
In 2009 Daniel Kim was awarded first prize at the International Singing Competition in Passau and
received the “Johann Strauss” prize in Coburg in 2009.
In 2005 and 2006 he was a prizewinner at the International Singing Competition of the Chamber Opera Schloss Rheinsberg and
received the sponsorship award of the Vera and Volker Doppelfeld Foundation
as well as a grant from the local Richard Wagner Association.
In 2008 he received the Audience Award from the Volksbühne Bremerhaven and in 2012 the Herzlieb-Kohut-Prize.
Numerous radio and CD recordings document his path.
The last CD released by Joeun Records in December 2017 was Franz Schubert's "Die Schöne Müllerin".
Daniel Kim studied singing at The Korean University of Arts in Seoul
and then switched to the Hanns-Eisler-Musikhochschule in Berlin.
